Obituary

Tupelo-Nita Faye Russell Clement, 83, a delightful and gentle soul, ended her earthly pilgrimage on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at NMMC in Tupelo after months of declining health. Faye, a native of the Thaxton area of Pontotoc County, was born on October 5, l934 to the late Audley Sylvester Russell and Mamie L Walker Russell. She graduated from Hurricane High School and married James “Bud” Clement on Dec. 31, 1953, a marriage of 60 years at his death on July 25, l914. Faye had a long career at Blue Bell Clothing Mfg. where she was longtime Secretary. Faye and Bud were stalwart supporters of everything East Tupelo. She was a devoted and faithful member of St. Mark United Methodist Church where she was matriarch of the Kitchen crew, a member of the Joy Club and the UMW. Faye was active in the East Heights Garden Club, an active volunteer with Meals on Wheels and at the Elvis Presley Birthplace. She was a devoted wife, Mother, Grandmother and Sister and was beloved by her family.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Danny Dabbs officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from Noon-service time Tuesday only at Holland-Tupelo Chapel which is honored to be serving their friends.
Faye leaves behind her grandson, Russell “Rusty” Clement and his wife, Amber of Tupelo; her great grandchildren, Evan and Lexie Clement; a brother, Darrell Russell and wife, Mardi of Oxford; A special niece and caregiver, Ginger Wade Lewis and her husband, Kent and their children, Luke, Logan and Liza all of Tupelo; numerous other nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, her only son, Tony Clement who died on March 14, 2009 and her siblings, her identical twin sister, Fern Wade and a brother, Harold Reed Russell.


Pallbearers will be Logan and Luke Lewis, Evan Clement, Steven Russell, Jonathan and Michael Poland.


Memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 175 Elvis Presley Drive, Tupelo, MS. 38804. The service may be viewed via www.hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Livestreaming at 2 PM Tuesday and for 60 days thereafter.
