Tupelo – Jerry Thomas Clark, 79, died Friday, June 1, 2018 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. He was born August 28, 1938 in the Cedar Hill Community west of Guntown to the late Raymond D. Clark and Kathleen Hunter Clark Griffin. Jerry graduated from Tupelo High School in 1956 and promptly joined the U.S. Air Force where he served for 16 years. He spent time in Germany, a country he really enjoyed. He served as Deputy Coroner for Lee County for eight years and recently retired from Walgreen’s as a pharmaceutical delivery man, one of his most blessed jobs. He enjoyed golfing, listening to gospel music and cooking. Jerry had an inquiring mind, never married, never met a stranger, was an avid conversationalist and a great friend to many people. He was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.
A service celebrating his life will be 11 AM Monday, June 4, 2018 at Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with military honors. Private burial will follow at Lee Memorial Park. Bro. James Caffey will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 - 5 PM today ,June 3, 2018 at Holland, Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be serving the family.
Jerry is survived by a brother Kenneth Clark and his wife, Mary of Mantachie; his sister-in-law, Mae Clark of Ackerman; nieces, Donna Kay Crowley (David) of Mantachie, Donna Bailey of Winona, Becky Roland of Mantachie, Deanna Slay (Earl) of Grenada, and Jennifer McBrayer (Don) of Cabot, AR; a nephew, Craig Clark (Mandy) of Ackerman and five great-nieces and nephew and special friends ,Justin and Catherine Michael and their sons of Kirkville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Billy and a great-nephew, Steven McCraw.
