Okolona-Faye Watson Rappe Hindman, 84, died at Diversicare in Tupelo, MS on May 30, 2018 after a lingering illness. She was born June 30, 1933 in the Palmetto Community of Lee County, MS to Sam M. Watson and Edna Threadgill Watson. Faye graduated from Okolona High School in 1951 as one of four honor students. She was also a medical assistant for many years in Columbus, MS and helped organize a Chapter of American Association of Medical Assistants and served for several years as Chapter President. She also served as President of the local Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
A celebration of life service will be at 1 PM, Saturday, June 2, 2018 in the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. George Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Boone’s Chapel Cemetery in Okolona. Visitation will be Saturday only from 11:30 AM- service time.
Survivors include her three daughters, Cheryl Rappe Megginson (Lamar) of Birmingham, AL, Cynde Rappe Turnage (Bud) of Houston, TX, Cathryn Rappe Ward (Gordon) of Tupelo, MS; a sister, Carolyn Brand (Jesse) and brother Fred (Sonny) Watson, formerly of Okolona, MS; and grandchildren, Dana Nix (Jamie), David Stone, Kelly Ann Turnage, Scott Turnage, Jason Turnage and Matthew Ward.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Donald Rapper and James Hindman.
Pallbearers will be David Stone, Jason Turnage, Matthew Ward, James Nix, Bill Brand, John Caldwell, Marty Watson, Jeff Watson, Richard Watson.
