Steve Hickman

Tupelo-Jon Steven Hickman, 56, died suddenly Monday, August 1, 2017 as the result of an automobile accident on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Steve was born in New Orleans, LA. on January 7, 1961. Shortly thereafter, he was adopted by his mom and dad, the late Dr. William L. Hickman and Betty Stotts Hickman. In the last few years after a lifelong search, Steve had the pleasure of meeting and reuniting with his birth parents and biological family in Louisiana, an occasion of great joy for he and them. Steve loved hunting, fishing, singing, cooking, great conversation and all things Mississippi State. He enjoyed watching his sons grow up and was active in their sporting activities. But, Poppa’s great joy was his four grandchildren who brought him untold joy. A longtime active member of West Jackson St. Baptist Church and its choir and pageants, he and his family were members of Hope Church at his death.
