Obituary

Tupelo-Forrest Ann Daniels, 79, died Friday, June 29, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and close friends, James and Tricia Richardson. She was born on Dec. 29, 1938, in Cedar Hill Community to the late Candler and Kathryn Palmer Bruton. During her formative years, Forrest Ann received her spiritual foundation from Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church.

In 1977, Forrest Ann was the first employee of the National Federation for Decency, which eventually became the American Family Association. She worked alongside AFA’s founding member, Donald Wildmon, for 37 years. She was also the first female to serve on AFA’s Board of Directors. She was a faithful member of the Belden Baptist Church

Forrest Ann was a devoted mother and grandmother to three children, 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Cole (Stephen); two sons, Phillip Mathis and Henry Daniels (Katie); her grandchildren, Brandy Carr (Justin), Wesley Cole, Ryan Mathis(Lacey), Haley Grace Jones (Cameron), Bella Mathis, Adelin Mathis, Sophie Mathis, Emma Kate Daniels, Harrison Daniels, and Mollie Tess Daniels; her great-grandchildren, Kayson Mathis, Carter Jones, Fisher Jones, Christian Carr, Skylar Carr, Kendyll Carr, Mattie Kate Carr, and Sarah Annalyn Carr. She is survived by her very special friend and longtime boss, Rev. Don Wildmon, who was more like a brother to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at Belden Baptist Church in Belden with Bro. Jim Holcomb and Rev. James Richardson officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Burton family plot at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cedar Hill Community. Visitation will be Monday only from 2 to 4 p.m. at Belden Baptist Church. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo Chapel is honored to be serving their friends.

Pallbearers will be her son in law and grandsons-Stephen Cole, Harrison Daniels, Ryan Mathis, Christian Carr, Wesley Cole and Justin Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be Fisher Jones, Kayson Mathis, Cameron Jones, Carter Jones, and her Belden Baptist Church Bible Study Group.
