Verona-Marlene Frances Winters Denton, 84, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 7:30 pm at North Miss. Medical Center after a brief illness. Marlene was born September 19, l933 in Calhoun County to the late Edward D. Winters and Ethel Euris Brasher Winters. She grew up in Calhoun County and married Dwain Denton in l952. She was a seamstress in the garment industry most of her working life. A longtime faithful member of the Verona First Baptist Church, Marlene was a quiet, gentle soul who loved her God and her family.
A Parlor Prayer Service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Tim Green, pastor of Saltillo First United Methodist Church leading. Private burial will follow in the Verona City Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 AM Tuesday and continue until 1 PM. Condolences may be e mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
Marlene leaves her three children, Michael (Mike) Dwain Denton of Verona, Vickie Lynn Robbins of Gulfport and Billy Wayne Denton (Sharon) of Saltillo. 4 grandchildren; Kimberly Denton, Thomas (Allen) Denton, Kristie Robbins and Katie Robbins. 2 great grandchildren, Sarah Nicole Denton and Bradyn Allen Denton. 5 siblings, Joan Jones, Geneise Hitt, Gene Winters, Glenda Aron and Sandra McCormick. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dwain on March 13, l977 and 3 siblings, Lorene Todd, Helen Davis and Danny Winters.
