Saltillo-Timothy Lee “Tim” Byrd, 53, died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at his residence in Saltillo after an extended struggle with COPD. Tim was born on July 11, l964 in Dayton, Ohio to the late George Franklin Byrd and Norma Jean Clark Byrd Walker. He lived a few years in Oneida, KY. and moved to Burnsville as a young man where he lived until moving to Saltillo 5 years ago. He was a professional truck driver and a truck mechanic for over 25 years before becoming disabled. Tim loved life and laughter and making everyone else laugh. He was a hard worker and enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He was a jovial, gentle soul who will be missed.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Antioch Baptist Church, 1015 Old Hwy 365 North, Burnsville, MS. 38833 with Sanctuary Hospice Chaplain Tony Corrie officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 PM -9 PM today (Friday) at the Cutshall Funeral Chapel in Glen. Visitation on Sat. will be at 9 AM-service time on Saturday at the Church. Holland Funeral Directors, Tupelo Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Survivors include his daughter, Brianna Qualls and her husband, Jerry of Burnsville, MS, 4 grandchildren, Mason Byrd, Makalyn Walker, Luke Qualls and Grace Ashtyn Qualls. His siblings, David Byrd of Saltillo, Jason “Jerry” Kirk and his wife, Melinda of Saltillo, Daisy Williams of Burnsville and Dottie Powers of Burnsville. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins. His Sanctuary Hospice nurses whom he revered and loved, Nicole and Ashley. An uncle, Herbert Byrd of Bethel, Ohio and aunt, Meg Epperson of Burnville. He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Christopher Lee Byrd and Adrianne Leecole Byrd. His sisters, Pamela and Larry Gene Johnson and Georgia Ruth Byrd and his special aunt and uncle, Tommy Wayne and Lavern Epperson.
