Ruby Faye Brown



Ruby Faye Brown, 78,went to be with Jesus from her residence at Rosewood Retirement Center in Tupelo on Thursday, March 8, 2018 after an extended illness. Ruby was born October 8, 1938 in Tippah County and picked cotton as a young girl growing up there. She had lived in Tupelo over 50 years. Ruby’s working life centered around helping others. She was a nursing assistant at North Miss. Medical Center for over 30 years and, after retiring, spent over 10 years helping the sick and dying at Sanctuary Hospice House. Ruby Faye was a quiet, cheerful soul who loved line dancing, the young at heart program, traveling and taking care of her dog. She enjoyed country and gospel music and was a great Mother and grandmother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended West Jackson St. Baptist Church and The Orchard.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Rev. Lenton Smith officiating. Private burial will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park on Joyner St in Tupelo. Visitation will be from 4 PM-6PM Sunday and from 10 AM-servcei time Monday all at Holland-Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be serving the family.
Ruby Faye is survived by her children, Jackie Lynn Pannell of Tupelo; Judy Carrol Towery of Pearl. Her brother Paul Wayne Cannon and wife Cathy of Batesville, Ark.. 2 sisters, Barbara Wheeless of Grand Prairie, TX. And Evelyn Sneed of Abilene, TX. 3 grandchildren, Brittany Shae Towery Avila, Amanda Nicole Towery Eliff and Bradley Allen Scott. 4 great grandchildren, Johnny Angel Avila, Gabriel Sebastian Eliff, Jazmine Ellixa Eliff and Serenity Sky Eliff. A very special friend, Brenda Hood of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladis O.D. Null and her brother, Terry Eugene Cannon.
