Okolona-William Dulane Pannell, 88, transformed from this life to the life everlasting at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after declining health. Mr. Pannell was born May 28, l929 in the Troy Community of Pontotoc Co. to the late William Wylie and Ruby Monette Warren Pannell. He grew up there, graduated from Pontotoc High School and married Eva Jean Buskirk on May 8, l953. Dulane worked for Futorian Furniture Co. for over 34 years where he was a valued associate before his retirement. He and Jean made their home in Okolona for 64 years. Dulane attended Carnation and First Baptist Churches in Okolona over the years. He enjoyed the outdoors, golfing, fishing, hunting, and was an Ole Miss sports fan. Dulane was a Master Mason belonging to Prairie Lodge # 88 in Okolona. He enjoyed his time with his grandson and great grandsons.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 2:30 PM Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Scotty Pannell officiating. Private entombment will take place at the Chapel of Faith Mausoleum at Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1 PM-service time Sunday only. Condolences may be e mailed to email@example.com
Dulane leaves to mourn, his wife of 63 years, Jean Buskirk Pannell of Okolona; their son, Vick Pannell and his wife, Cathy of Alexander, Arkansas; grandson, Jody Pannell and wife, Gera; great grandsons, Tyler, Ethan and Brycen Pannell. Brothers, Dennis Pannell (Nadine) and Leon Pannell (Clara). A brother in law, Jay Hendrix. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Elizabeth Martin (James, deceased) and Nancy Hendrix.
Pallbearers will be John Andrew Gregory, Jerry Morgan, Larry McCord, Danny Jr. Buskirk, Tim Martin and Jake Johns. The family expresses gratitude to the staff of Shearer Richardson Nursing Center for their care.
