Tony Allen Smith



Amory-Tony Allen Smith, 54, of Amory passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Sanctuary Hospice House after fighting a long and strong battle with cancer. He was born on August 13, 1963 to Bill and Doris Smith in Garland County, Arkansas. On June 24, l983, he married his high school sweetheart, Tammy Johnson. They were blessed over the years with three beautiful daughters. Tony spent most of his career working in the transportation industry as a truck driver. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson “Betty” every chance he got with his wife, brother Jack and sister in law, Jeannie. Those times will be wonderful memories. He enjoyed bluegrass gospel music and shared that enjoyment with his Sister, Sue. Together, Tony and Sue attended several gospel concerts. He enjoyed working on his 1953 Ford truck which was a restoration in progress. Tony was a much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and overall great man with a big heart. His family was always the most important aspect of his life.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 5 PM Monday, Feb. 20, 2018 at Grace Fellowship Baptist Church in Hatley with Bro. Jimmy Tackett officiating. Visitation will be from 4 PM-service time at the Church. Holland Funeral Directors is assisting the family with arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Tammy Smith of Amory; his daughter, Natalie “Baby Girl” Allen (Justin) of Wren; a daughter, Stacey “Tator Baby” Justice (Caleb) of Hatley; daughter, Amanda “Toot” Dabbs (Tyler); five grandchildren, Koda and soon to arrive Miley Dabbs, Ava Allen, Clayton and Case Justice. Sister, Sue Hillhouse of Amory, brother, Jack Smith (Jeanie) of Hatley. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews of which he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Smith (Mary Jo) and Doris Smith, a sister, Loretta Faye and a brother, David Allen.
