Tupelo – Ms. Darla J. Duncan, 58, died Monday, January 22, 2018 at her residence following an extended battle with cancer. She was a lifelong resident of Tupelo, born January 30, 1959 to William L. Duncan, Sr. and Joyce Pannell Duncan. She was a 1977 graduate of Tupelo High School. Darla was patriotic, serving in the U.S. Army. She worked as an Inspector, employed by APMM. She was a loving mother and loved her grandchildren. She lived life to the fullest.
She is survived by her father, William. L. Duncan, Sr. of Tupelo; her daughter, Michelle McGee (Gary) of Tupelo; brother, William “Bud” Duncan (Callie) of Meridian; sister, Vickie Narcy of Jackson; grandchildren, Matthew McGee and Manuel McGee, and a host of other near relatives. She was preceded in death by her mother and son, Matthew Jackson, III.

A beautiful classmate with a great attitude. Life seems to take us away from each other, but the memories are always there. You brought light and smiles to many fellow 1977 classmates as well as others in your lifetime. See you in the light.

Darla, thank you for connecting with me on FB. I know you and I were never close,but I remember you as a very sweet classmate with a beautiful smile. The Class of ‘77 has lost another family member. This caught me by surprise. When l talked to Buddy few months ago Darla answered phone and we talked awhile and said she was living with Buddy and taking care of him. She never mentioned having health problems. I called couple times recently and no one answered phone. All l can say is the is in my prayers. Tommy Doty
