Obituary

Old Union Community - Andy Mack Brazeal, 63, took his heavenly flight to sing in the heavenly choir on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his residence in Shannon. He was born in Yazoo City, MS on November 2, 1954 to Mack N. Brazeal and Betty McElroy Brazeal. A life long Lee Countian, he attended Saltillo Schools. He married the love of his life, Sarah Hamilton Brazeal on March 7, 1975. He worked as maintenance supervisor at Action/Lane furniture for 21 years. Andy worked in maintenance for the North Miss. Medical Center and retired on March 26, 2017. A Baptist, he attended Old Union Baptist Church for over 42 years where he served for 17 years as music director. His love for gospel music was legendary. A born again Christian, his favorite verse was Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Andy enjoyed the outdoors where he loved to hunt, fish, and camp. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren who affectionately knew him as Papaw. Andy was a gentle soul whose life was committed to serving others.

Services will be held at 11AM Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Bob O’Neal and Dr. Marvin Murphy officiating. Private burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 4PM-7PM and Friday 10AM-service time all in the Tupelo Chapel. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Brazeal of Shannon; a son, Trent Brazeal (Kimberly) of Auburn; a daughter, Jennifer Robertson (Will) of Blue Springs; mother, Betty Brazeal of Grant Pass, Oregon; brothers, Marshall Brazeal, William Brazeal (Jean), and Wayne Brazeal (Marie) all of Saltillo; sister, Gail Brazeal of Grant Pass, Oregon. His family by the grace of God, Foy Dunaway of Flowery Branch, GA, Mike Dunaway (Belinda) of Altitude, MS, Donnie Dunaway (Lynda) of Baldwyn, MS, Ronnie Dunaway (Sharon), Rocky Dunaway (Ginger), Franklin Dunaway all of Saltillo; sisters, Lila Needam of Bridge Water, MA, Lela Hutcheson, Lola LeBlanc both of Saltillo, Mary Sue Mullinax (Preston) of Charleston, SC; grandsons, Andrew Brazeal, Casen Brazeal, Rivers Robertson, granddaughter, Tinley Claire Robertson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and his Old Union Baptist Church family. He is preceded in death by his father, Mack N. Brazeal; brother, David Brazeal; and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Dunaway.


Pallbearers will be Jerry Ellis, Matt Ellis, Randy Harris, Donnie Dunaway, Ronnie Dunaway, and Rocky Dunaway.
