Verona-Larry Evans “Pete” Anderson, 61, died in his sleep at his residence in Verona on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Born in Tupelo on Feb. 18, l956 to the late Larry W. Anderson and Jeannette Evans Anderson, Larry grew up here and graduated from Tupelo High School in l974. He attended community college and began his working career thereafter. Before becoming disabled in 2007, Pete worked for 7 years as a Captain for Dolphin Cruises out of South Carolina. Known for his trademark hats, he enjoyed life and especially his active involvement in the North Star Church where he ran the media/ video productions. He enjoyed the outdoors and all his animals especially his chickens and dogs. Pete was an ace electronics expert, enjoyed photography and sailing.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 PM Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Andrew Ledbetter officiating. Pete leaves behind his family; his wife, Marsha Anderson of Verona, his mother, Jeannette Anderson of Tupelo. his sister, Cynthia McMurry (Dale, deceased) of Brandon, MS, his brother, Jeffrey Dale Anderson of Tupelo. Two daughters, Kaley Anderson of Denver, Colorado and Cami Anderson of Tupelo, two step sons, Bill Collins (Belinda) and David Collins and their children, Taegan, Brooklynn and Camryn Collins all of Pikeville, KY. A niece, Marlee Lane and a nephew, Nick Lane. His spiritual family at North Star Church and a host of friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry W. Anderson and a brother, Steven Wayne Anderson.
Memorials may be made to Tupelo-Lee Humane Society Building Fund, P. O. 1185, Tupelo, MS. 38802. The service may be viewed at www.hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Livestreaming.

I grew up with Pete in Lee Acres and went to school with him as well. We had many of the same friends in our social circle. Pete was a kind and easy going kind of guy. Please accept my most heartfelt condolences Anderson Family. I’ll see you on the other side Pete. Peace.
