Obituary

Tupelo-Paul Stanley Foster, 70, died peacefully at his residence in Orange Beach, Ala. after an extended struggle with cancer. Paul was born in Baldwyn on August 26, 1947, was raised in the Palestine Community of Itawamba County and lived most his adult life in Tupelo. Paul was a patriotic American and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He later graduated from Itawamba Community College and attended Ole Miss. He married Edna Stegall Foster on May 30, l971 and they made their home in East Tupelo until retiring two years ago to Orange Beach, Alabama to be near their daughter and grandchildren. Paul was a master automobile salesman for over 39 years beginning his career at Marlin-Harris-Temple Lincoln Mercury, spending many years at Dossett Big 4 and retiring from Tupelo Auto Sales. He was a faithful member of East Heights Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. A genial soul, Paul loved all animals, was an avid Ole Miss Rebel and Dallas Cowboys football fan and enjoyed conversation with family and friends.


A service remembering and celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with his pastor, Bro. Tim Brown, officiating. Visitation will be from Noon-service time on Sunday only at Holland-Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be assisting their friends.


Paul is survived by his wife of 46 years, Edna of Orange Beach and Tupelo; his daughter, Amy Travis of Fairhope, Ala., his grandson’s, Sam Travis of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and Bo Travis of Fairhope, Alabama. A sister, Jan Campbell (Johnny) of Helena, Alabama and a brother in law, Marion Bethel “Bud” Stegall, III (Terry) of Van Cleave, Mississippi.
