Tupelo-Melinda Joyce Thompson Sudduth, 58, died suddenly at her residence in Tupelo on Friday, May 5, 2017. A native of Clay County, Melinda was born on September 9, 1958 to George Nood Thompson and Melissa Murphy Thompson. She grew up in Clay Co. and graduated from Woodland High School. She moved to the Tupelo area in l977 and was employed as a Home Health Nurse for many years. For the last 10 years, she was a much beloved school bus driver in the Tupelo Public Schools. A member of the West Mooreville Baptist Church, Melinda loved the outdoors, fishing, her flowers, bird watching and bird houses and going to field trials with her husband. But, her great love was her family especially her grandchildren.
A service remembering her life will be held at 1 PM Monday, May 8, 2017 at 1 PM at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with her pastor, Bro. Robert Winters officiating. Visitation will be from Noon-service time Monday only, all at Holland-Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be assisting the family.
Survivors include her husband, Terry Sudduth of Tupelo; her mother, Melissa Murphy Deaton of Mooreville; her children, Mandy Sudduth (Andy), Jessica Sudduth, Chris Sudduth (Jacklin) and Dustin Sudduth all of Tupelo. 11 grandchildren: Kody, Hunter, Jake, Tyler, C.J., Makayla, Mallory “MaeMae”, Carley, Kallin, Madison and Callie; her sister, Sandra Bishop and her brothers, Jackie Thompson and Rodney Thompson all of Tupelo; her mother in law, Barbara Floyd and her sister in law, Jenny Murry. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of loving and supportive friends. She is preceded in death by her father, George Nood Thompson and son, Michael Sudduth.

I didnt personally know her I would see her every time we have our back to school meeting I would see her but because I am part of the TPD she was family my prayers is wit y'all that God give peace

Thanks for all your prayers my mom was a awesome women and I'll miss here more than anything she was always there for me no matter what and I could do no wrong in her eyes because of her and dad I'm the women I am today she always would tell me don't give up you can do it ..thats why I am successful today and my boys could do no wrong I can remember getting on to them and she would get on to me and tell me to leave them alone there just boys I know my mom's in a better place but I still miss her everyday and she will forever be in my heart..
