Obituary

Hatley-Ruby Jean Carnathan Hill, 69, died Saturday, April 22, 2107 at her residence in Hatley.

Born in Lee County on April 18, 1948 to the late Joseph and Maxell Bowen Carnathan, she graduated from Okolona High in l966. A master seamstress in the furniture industry, she worked for Blue Bell and retired from Action Industries in Verona. She loved her family and all her grandchildren. Ruby Jean loved classic country music, her dog CoCo , feeding hummingbirds, planting and growing flowers and watching Days of our Lives, the ID Channel and Westerns.

Her funeral service will be at 11 AM Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Okolona Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with burial to follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5PM-8PM today (Monday) and from 10 AM-service time Tuesday all at Holland-Okolona Chapel.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa West of Amory; her son, Tony Hill (Lisa) of Okolona and Houston; her Carnathan silbings: Bobby Ray (Sheree), Gary Lynn (Linda) and Robbie Joe (Emily); Marcelle Bethany (Bob) and Vicki Parham (Johnny). 5 grandchildren: Will, Stacey, Amanda, Dawson and Katherine and one great granddaughter Aubrey Pearson. Special friends, Rebecca Hill and her children who were like her grands, Jacob, Logan and Josh. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James.
