Brewer-Carolyn Ann Ward Sisk, 71, transformed to the life eternal at Methodist Hospital-Memphis on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 after an extended illness. Carolyn was born in Tupelo on May 31, 1945 to the late Robert Allen “Bobby” Ward and Virginia Elizabeth Dye Ward. She lived all her life in the Brewer Community except for a brief time after her marriage to Bruce Sisk on Nov. 24, 1961 when they lived in the Old Union Community. Carolyn spent her life in service to her family, her Church and her community. She was owner of Carolyn’s Flowers in Brewer for almost 40 years. Her designs have brought great joy to thousands at their special occasions. A creative soul, Carolyn was a sterling personality, loved her family, her clients and everything Brewer. She was a longtime member of the Brewer Baptist Church and had beautifully decorated the Church every Christmas for numbers of years. She and Bruce loved the outdoors and camping especially at Stanford Campground in Pontotoc Co. They also greatly enjoyed antique car and tractor shows and trips to Branson, Missouri and Mountain View, Ark. Carolyn loved her yard and growing flowers, decorating and dancing, her Bunko group and swimming with the grands. She was a gentle, loving soul that will be greatly missed by family and a large host of friends.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 7, 2017 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with her pastor, Bro. Tim Tutor and her first cousin, Joe Dye speaking. Jason West will provide the song service. Private burial will be in the Brewer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 PM-8PM today and from Noon-service time on Friday all at Holland-Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to be serving their friends.
