Bankhead Community – Ms. Berlene Gentry Galloway, 82, another precious soul, was called to her heavenly home, Wednesday, April 5, 2017 while at New Albany Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 4, 1935 in Pontotoc, MS to George Washington Gentry and Queen Sappington Gentry. She lived her life in Pontotoc county, graduating from Pontotoc High School in 1953. She worked in the cafeteria employed by Pontotoc City Schools for many years before retiring. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
A service celebrating Berlene’s life will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Ray Ware officiating. Private burial will follow at Immanuel Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 12 noon to service time only.
Survivors include two brothers, Cortez Gentry of Pontotoc and Clyde Brown Gentry of Hernando; sisters-in-law, Faye Gentry, Nell Gentry, and Jo Ann Gentry, all of Pontotoc; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Branty, Kavnaugh, G.W., and Louis; sister, Annie, and sisters-in-law, Guvie and Jean.
Pallbearers will be Michael Gentry, Adam Gentry, Ryan Roberts, and Reagan Roberts.
