Shannon- Thomas E. Clark, 80, passed away March 26, 2017, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Shannon, MS. He was born on October 12, 1936 to D.W. and Tennie Lee Clark in Shannon. He was a member of Cason Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army, building bridges. He lived his life to the fullest, loved to have fun, and was always on the go. He was a beloved member of the Pontocola community, known as “Big T” who often helped those who were down and out. He whole-heartedly loved his family and friends. He also loved music, especially bluegrass. He played the harmonica and attended outdoor music festivals as often as he could. He loved to fish and be outdoors.
A celebration of life service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with his daughter, Pastor Teresa Clark officiating. Private burial will follow in Shannon Cemetery. Visitation will be today (Wednesday) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to service time. He is survived by the mother of his children, Nancy Clark; his son Michael Clark (Alanna) of Shannon; his two daughters Donnett Clark of Shannon and Teresa Clark of Fort Worth, TX; Grandchildren, Shelby Clark, Adam Garcia (Jennifer), Clay Clark, Savannah and Mary Hood; his niece Barbara Long of Shannon and his dearest companion, Glenda Hall of Baldwyn. He also leaves behind numerous great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Adam Garcia, Clay Clark, Andy Parker, Bill Ethridge, Brandon Ethridge, and Dave Carnathan. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Rodgers, Terry Frierson, Jeff Matthews, Dallas Leathers, Rut Williams, Kevin Stokes, Michael Ethridge, John Ivy, Bill Whitt, Holder Homan, Roland Duke, and Lee Kellum.
